Volunteer

This is an important campaign, but we can only get on the ballot with your help, so please lend a hand!

Thanks! With your help, we collected over 600 signatures at the Dalai Lama event at Qwest Field and Green Fest at the Convention Center during the weekend of April 12-13.

Many Volunteer Opportunities

Check out our online calendar for volunteer opportunities. (Please be patient with the calendar site, it is hosted on a third party server.) Then send us an email to volunteer@divestfromwar.org and let us know if you can join us at one of these events. We usually try to collect signatures at the beginning of an event, as people are entering, and some at the end, as people leave. We can use help for part or all of that time.

Collect Signatures on your Own

We each have a circle of friends, classmates, family, and coworkers. If every supporter just collected signatures from their social circle, we could hit our target more quickly. So if you would like to do that, or if you would prefer to collect signatures on your own, let us know and we can send you ballot forms with a return envelope.

If you have access to a double-sided laser printer, feel free to download the petition, print, and collect signatures. Then send the forms to the address below.

Join Our Mailing List

In any case, please join our moderated, low-volume volunteer announcements mailing list. Send a blank email to divestfromwar-ann-subscribe@lists.riseup.net. You will receive a confirmation message that you need to reply to, and then you will be on the list. We use this list to announce upcoming volunteer opportunities and other campaign news.

Donate

If you are not local to Seattle, or if you are not comfortable collecting signatures, please consider making a financial contribution. We need money for printing and mailing signature forms, for our web site, for printing publicity material, for tabling fees, etc. All of us are volunteers, so your donations will go a long way. You can donate online right now.

Petition Gathering

Our signature gathering deadline is September 27, although we would really like to have signatures come in as people collect them, because we need to know how far we are from reaching our goal.
